Super Don. Very sharp where it matters and a beautiful wing angle. I like the placement in the frame as well. I don't want to make a big deal of it but I see some noise in the background. I find it amazing how much of a positive impact it can have on an image to remove this noise. Did you sharpen the bird or the whole image (?) because if the latter, the noise will be accentuated. Best to reduce noise just in the BG, then sharpen just the subject.

    Don,

I agree with John the subject placement is framed well. The entire image is unique showing this as a flash of color and moment in nature both - very strong. The picture shows color, gesture and the beauty of flight against a muted background. Thanks for waiting for this moment and visualizing the image in advance.

Hi Don, please include your full technical specs in each post, as us old folks have a hard time remembering what everyone shoots with... Since the bird is flying down and to the left, I would prefer to see the placement more up and to the right. If this were a static bird, I would agree that the placement in the frame is good, but since it is flying toward the lower left corner, I would choose to put it in the upper right. Exposure, color rendition, and sharpness look really good to me. I would love to have this image in my collection. Well done!

    Hi Don,
Beautiful image. Agree with Kerry on the position of the bird. Great colors on the bird. Perfect timing on capturing the bird in flight.
