Excellent IQ in this shot and love all those details. Would consider straightening the perch as it works as a "virtual horizon".

Nice looking Wood pecker, Wonderful detail and Bg my only suggestion would be to crop off the bottom making the perch less prominent in the image as is it's a little overpowering and detracts slightly form the subject

    Jim.

seems you had fun on the setup. would love to work on setup one day as in my country nobody use that or we can say people thing its not ethical. But would love to try out someday for sure.

Techs are so lovely and the expo is good over that superb green bg. I think the perch is over powering a bit and doing some CCW would be good IMHO.

Lovely bird with great exp and details. I like all the interest in the perch but do find it overpowering. I would agree with Don and Mital's suggestions.

Hi Jim, I feel you have exposed the woodpecker so well with regards to the blacks, and overall the image is nice and sharp. Love the dark green BG too. Im fine with the perch, but before reading Mital's suggestion on rotation, I had the same in mind.

Thanks everyone for the comments and suggestions. Here is a version with some perch removed and rotated. Better?

This is terrific, Jim. The bird is gorgeous - looks like the better looking cousin of our own Gold-fronted WP :)
Exposure, perch, pose and bg are superb too. Repost is excellent.

Wonderful shot of this handsome WP. Techs, comp, bg all well done. Perch is lovely - I think I've seen it somewhere before. Repost addresses the issues nicely.

Killer image, bird, and quality. Colors and BKGR lovely. I like the wider version and would love to see it with the perch leveled.... In the repost the bird looks stuffed into the frame. For me.

I just re-checked; the repost is still a spectacular image.
