Kept a bit of the surroundings in this one as I liked the lines in the background.

Robert, you captured nice pose and I like the overall setting but I wish we had some eye contact in this one...and if mine I would crop it further from right and top.

Real nice shot. I really like the light, wonderful background, but do wish to be able to see an eye. Either way great shot.
    Well done.

Excellent setting, pose and colors. Very nice mood to this image. I actually am liking the negative space a lot.

Robert, I do like this. what a pose. good shooting angle. the combination of long focal length and wide-open is perfect for this situation.

Hey Robert, Even without eye contact this elegant image works for me. Love the light and the raised wing preening pose. I cropped from the left to go more to a rule of thirds composition and from the top to get rid of the dark stuff along the edge. Light is very sweet as are the colors.

I meant to mention that I love the texture and shape of the mud bar and the water at the bottom and the reflection of the bird.

Hi Arthur, thanks for taking the time on the image. Your cropping suggestion is a subtle change, but makes a big improvement on the photo.

Thanks for appreciating that Robert. And a belated welcome to BPN with big thanks for your membership support. When I showed your image to Denise Ippolito she said instantly, "Needs a crop from behind." My general rule is to get the birds in a corner as "nobody gives a rat's *** what's going on behind the bird."
