    Default Goosander (Mergus merganser)

Due to the weather end of last year in the south of Germany - some lakes where partly frozen!
That gave me the opportunity to get closer to this normally very shy bird!
    c&c welcome

Wonderful capture. In 3 posts you've won me as a fan. I look forward to seeing more.
(Heading to your web site when done here.)

It seems like the browns are hard to capture but you've done a wonderful job.
We have a Northern Pintail with striking browns and I see a lot of images where they come out gray.

Fantastic image!!! If anything a bit more room top and left - but that's only my personal preference.

This is a really great duck photo.
Colors are terrific, nice angle and beautiful duck.

Great image of this merganser. I'd be tempted to lighten the head just the smallest bit to bring out the eye detail, but it is only nitpicking.

what a great great image this is. would do some crop from bottom or add on top and left as Ofer said.

I see a slight CW rotation required.

IQ is Great, Sharpness at its best and so the Expo Bang on. The gold water adds to it.

Hi Holger, love the light and colours in this, together with your low angle of capture. Excellent sharp detail on the duck too. Comp wise, if this were mine, I would crop off at least half off the bottom, and add a bit left and top.

wonderful shot, Holger. love the low angle, IQ and the golden pond. If mine, I'd compose with more room above...but as Ofer said, must be personal preference.
