    Default Black and White Warbler

Corkscrew Swamp several weeks ago. Full height, cropped from horizontal. Wish I had some room to move the bird up a little in the frame, and maybe a little more SS. Cloned out a few distracting bits of vegetation. C&C appreciated.

    Hi Bill,
I love warblers. I agree a bit more SS would have been nice to make this image " ice-pick razor" sharp but still very good. I like the perch and the roping ?vine. I like your composition and don't feel you need more room at the bottom. I wish the bird was a bit more parallel to the perch. Lovely BG and good exposure for the black and the white,
    Gail

A mighty species. Moving all the way around! very nice details on both B&W's. Wish for a thinner perch but I know they always pick the wrong one :)

A difficult bird to photograph and the black and whites make it harder by always seeming to be on thick trunks. The background, vines, DOF and light are great. I too wish for slightly higher in the frame and a little head turn.

Hi Bill, well exposed on both whites and blacks, and interesting striped lines this fellow has. Im fine with the sharpness, and another alternative for your comp ( since you shot horizontal ) is use your original shot, take off the top, and leave a little more room below for him to look into. That way, he will be higher in the frame.

Thanks Stuart. Here was my original stab at a comp -- similar to what you've suggested. This is 65% of FF. It's probably better as a bird photograph, but I preferred the overall image design of the vertical comp (if one can make such a distinction), since I hated to lose the twisted vines. Now that I look at it again, I like it this way too. I also went back and used Topaz to remove a bit of the motion blur of the original. Thanks for the suggestion.
