    Thankyou roger.. My D7000 has a rather small buffer..so i shoot in jpeg sometimes..is their anything i can do to improve a jpeg image? ie sharpening? was wondering what you would do or could do ?

    Hi Brian,

    Yes, jpeg images can be improved, just one can't push as far or as hard because jpeg images have lower signal-to-noise ratios and less dynamic range. The exposure must be more accurate. Many years ago I shot only jpegs, but once I learned what a big improvement raw is, I switched to raw+jpeg. I almost always record raw+jpeg, even on my older cameras that had smaller buffers. Reviewing jpegs is much faster than reviewing raw. I just work to manage my frame count and press the shutter only when it counts.
