Welcome to BPN! What a terrific first post. I like the low angle. The light is splendid as is the water. "on Golden Pond" comes to mind.Good HA. I would sharpen the tip of bill-otherwise no nirs from me,

Lovely image very good colours and fine detail. I fully appreciate the crop & reflection & golden colours - I like it very much, but I wonder what the image would have looked like had the bird been lower in the frame and with less gold and reflection, I suspect you made the right choice, I am just curious.

Thanks for the kind words and suggestions everyone. @Jonathan - I did make some images with the grebe lower in the frame. In this area of the water, there were some distracting elements above the frame.

Hi Robert, welcome to BPN, and enjoy your stay. The light and colours make this image, and the grebe is well exposed too. Since, the reflection is not that visible, I feel cropping up from the bottom ( at least a third ) wont harm the image. I agree with Gail to selectively sharpen the tip of the beak.

Just love the water color and the position of the bird with low angle.
