Here is a fractalius of the female Red-bellied Woodpecker that is hanging around my home this winter. An oddity around here, but most likely due to the extra warm winter and lack of snow. Photographed this one today from my backyard photo blind / feeder set-ups.
Hi Andrew. I like the Fractalius treatment in this image...it brings out additional definition and form to the head particularly...and I like the pose of the woodpecker. If it were mine I'd be tempted to tone down the highlights in the trunk a bit...and maybe crop a sliver from the LHS. Nice, creamy, warm-colors in the background...a slight vignette in the corners might help a bit, too. Hope to see more of your images of this bird.
I like it Andrew, we very seldom see these birds in Ottawa, Lucky you. I might have applied a clockwise rotation ( straighten out the tree) to the image but thats just me...Nice Workl
