... and Mommy says wer'e cute. Well I think so too. Shot at a local nest . What a perfect nest sight too. Did you notice the little flower growing in the corner? Got my MIII back from Canon and forgot to Enable my microadjustmet. I think it made a difference in the sharpness but I think I just got away with it. WDYT? The lighting here is very hard , Shady tree side lighting thru the branches. Used some fill

Nice family portrait Cheryl! I like the tired mom, ugly owlets and setting. I tried a pano crop with your image eliminating some of the bottom and really liked it.

I thought about a pano as well. Would love to see your post.

    Quite a picture, to be sure...personally I prefer Jim's bare-bones crop...

Wow, that's a very nice family. Love the focused eyes and the welcoming nest. I do agree about the pano crop for this one. May a tad less on top as shown on Jim's version. The flower really adds to the image.

I feel like the wicked witch as I see several problems with this image. The main issue is that the mom's face is soft. There is a magenta cast to the image as well. You are very lucky though because you can go back to this beautiful scene and shoot it again. I would try shooting at a high ISO to avoid the fill flash as I find it makes the youngsters feathers look crispy. I can't wait to see more from this special nest,

I like the op with just a hair off of the bottom. I like the poses, the flower, the nest is real cool. I have to agree with Gail, the whole image looks soft to me and I too see the color cast.

It is soft and i am bummed. As I said my lens was fixed of the focus issue then I fell in the water and I fear it's back to bad again. :(

Cheryl, The magenta is an easy fix. Yes, soft for sure. But I have seen some far worse images (in terms of focus) do well in competittions, and I think that the content is strong enough that it would be a keeper in my book. It's a wonderful scene.

Thanks Grace. I used a tripod so it must have been the microadjustment disabled from Canon... I hope. I have ebnabled it and havn't gone back out yet. Not sure where the cast came from as my image doesn't show it on PS???

A very cute scene Cheryl! It is worth to give it some more trials under different lighting conditions. I surely would take several shots of it.
