7D, 500mm, 1/640 @ 6.3, 400iso, +1 EV - the bird was sitting in the shade - I did not have a flash - and has been eating something as is has a stain down its front.
The first year I went to inland Australia I did not see one - on the last day of my trip last year we got lucky if only for 15 minutes. It was a real bonus to have this bird sitting in a tree and being quite calm with us around. The Grey Falcon is a bird with maybe 1000 breeding pairs in australia - their distribution is inland arid Australia - think lots of space with not a lot of human occupation. They are not easily seen or predictable in where you may see them. So it was a thrill to hear some one call out 'grey falcon' and I had brought my camera along just in case - we were at the time doing bird surveys and I would usualy leave my camera behind and take binoculars instead. This was taken last year.
Thanks, Tom.
