I found a nice new location for gulls yesterday. Light was even and very flat so I tried to create a mostly white image with very narrow dof, beak and eye in sharp focus and allow the rest of the bird to fall away. This is my result. Thank you for looking and as always for your comments.

I love the rendering of the bill and especially the plumage in the soft light. I would like to see a touch more detail in the eye. The plumage looks touchable.

Nicely planned and executed, Grace. Nice light, comp and overall feel to this image.

Nicely executed Grace. Looks very soft and wintery. Nice detail and exposure. For me, I think a slight cock of the head would have been more engaging.

Excellent technically. I would lighten up the eye a bit. Whites look great and I like your choice of composition,

Nice soft light Grace and a somber stare. If it were mine I would lighten the eye a bit.
