I hope you are not getting tired of my bald eagle shots. There isn't much else to take pictures of. Our songbird winter population is way down this year. The ornithologists at out local university were on TV discussing possible causes etc. Last winter,I filled my feeders every second day and now I fill them once a week. Very worrying.
Comments and critiques always appreciated and learned from with thanks,
    Gail

I like this! Graet dynamic pose and excellent techs. The bird was not looking at you but that's not a big nit IMHO.

Wow, this is amazing, Gail. How can you be bored of birds when they look this great.
I started birding almost on a daily basis in around 1998. As I go to the same places, I noticed drastic decline in overwintering duck population in Burlington Bay and a huge decline in songbirds and raptors.

Excellent sharpness and pose. The whites and the eye look just a little bright. I have maybe half of the birds on my property now compared to the last two years. Some northern migrants that I usually enjoy are just not here. I think a mild winter and a huge mast crop has a little to do with it.

Hi Gail, you have outdone yourself with this. Very well timed to capture the pre-take off pose with the raised wings. Good choice of F stop, a fast ss, which has rendered excellent sharpness all round. Did I mention that you have also exposed this so, so well. Congrats on a fine image.

Nice timing on capturing this pose Gail. I also like the BG color and texture of the somewhat melted ice.

Very powerful talons and excellent wing position. I also find the HA not the best but is fine since I'm not the HA policeman! :) Love the light and the fact that is standing on ice.
