Steve great golden light falling on the one eye. I would have prefered more space at the bottom of the image TFS

The light and mood are really nice. A bit tight for me. Do you have any more room? Good IQ,

Hey Steve, your trusty 20D. I still have my 20D as a spare body. Late afternoon light can be just as sweet as the morning light, and in this, has also brought out warm colours. Light coming from your left has brought out the right eye of the owl nicely, those yellows are striking. Since you cropped this from horizontal, Im sure adding a little on each side will create too much of a square crop. How does the original horizontal look?

I'm really enjoying the side light and the effect created in this image.
    Excellent sharpness and details.

Thanks for the comments everyone. Plenty of room in the original, owl fills only about a third of the frame, right in the middle. A big OOF strip across the bottom covered most of the feet and the owl had multiple visible bands on the both legs.

Sweet shot. I really like the light, nice head angle, and very good detail.
    Well done.
