Like the symmetry here Morkel, don't think it's FF as it's not 2:3 ratio, as was wondering if you have any room on the left?

Morkel - great pov, head angle, symmetry and comp. Conversion works well too.

Conversion looks good, nice symmetry of poses and position, and a perfect title for this shot. Would like a touch more room on the left (as viewed) but that's about it for me.

Hey Morkel,
Agree about a touch more room left. I might also smooth the brightest line of tire tracks near the rear legs.....blend should be a better word.....and then it works for me....even with the road! Nice job on the conversion too!

Hi Morkel,
Nice low angle image.

Morkel,
This does ring a bell
Definitely needs more room on the left, should be an easy fix. B&W "hides" the road quite well, perhaps try to blend out the more obvious tyre marks.

Thanks for the feedback and suggestions, folks. It's actually a tar road but the roads in the north of the Park have gravel strewn over them which makes it possible for slight tracks to become visible. Will work on that element!

Sorry Marc, I processed this a while ago. I know for sure that what you see here is edge-of-frame at the top and LHS (as I too wish for more space but have none), but might be a slight crop from RHS and bottom, but as posted still probably about 95%+ of the original image

Hi Morkel, small issues easily addressed, curious why the conversion, being early morning slightly overcast I thought a colour version might have worked better?
I wouldn't have had such a clear view of the feet...
Why, it's all about pose, HA and symmetry, the diagonal line of the road links well with the two hyenas.

Like everything about this image Morkel, low angle , symmetry, detail and comp. The B&W conversion seems to increase the menace posed by these two.

Thanks Bhai.
As stated in the other thread, I don't agree as the physical content of the image has gone unchanged (no cloning or blurring or excessive dodging/burning done). You have posted one or two monochrome images yourself here in Wildlife in the past ;).
The BPN guidelines don't disinguish between colour or monochrome images per se. Besides, there was a time (albeit long ago) when B&W was the only medium available :)

Morkel , I know your love for B & W and respect it. IMHO , using these techs and software like Nik creates images which are OOB and can not be created IN CAMERA , This is my personal opinion. When we have separate forum for these kind of images , why not to post there ?
Anyways I am too much busy these days so can't spend much time on this subject , but I suggest you to start on thread in general discussions where people can come out and express their opinions ;)

Doesn't your camera have a B&W colour space setting? ;)
The Nik filter doesn't do much different from what can be done in normal PS.
I also don't have the time to start a debate there about something with which I find myself in agreement with the forum guidelines :). That being said, I do respect your opinion about this and your right to hold it, but reserve the right to differ with you on it...:)
