Taken in Kruger National Park. A herd of about two hundred Buffalo surrounded our vehicle at a waterhole, they just kept coming. A most exhilirating experience.

Pieter - Great detail. I like the slightly open mouth, visible teeth and also the eyelashes. Tight comp also works for me.

Sounds like a wild moment, Pieter, nicely captured and composed profile image of this buffalo. Great looking horns, love the giant lumps on head, open mouth, and nice details. I'm guessing that is a tail tip to the rt of the nose - very minor, but am wondering about the small spot of red-orange colors at the very tip?
Beautiful details on this! I like tight portraits and the excellent details make this work for me!
wow, I think I'm going blind! I don't know why I did not see that as a bird!![]()
Like the comp here Pieter. I like the detail on the near horn. Looks like he's asking the bird for some directions.
Pieter,
Very nice pose here, great detail and colours.
Hi Pieter,
Excellent pose and great IQ.

Indeed a nice close-up Pieter with good details and exposure. I wish there was a better "eye".
I know many people don't like photographing them as they are not always the most "photogenic", but I quite like buffalo and enjoy seeing a big herd like this one - did you take any wider shot of the bovine mass?
I must say I was perplexed by your initial comment until I saw this rebuttal![]()
Thank you Morkel, nice to be amongst a herd like this. I took quite a number of images, mixture of closeups, groups and the mass. I found getting a decent enough picture of the mass not easy to get but will review them again.
