    This capture was made in Northern California this past Feb. with a Nikon D200 + 400 f3.5 EDIF manual focus lens wide open, ISO 110, shutter speed 1250.

    Very nice interaction. A lower angle would have improved this image a lot.

    Hi Dan I like the interaction A slight separation between the birds would have benneficial Would try working on the face of the close up bird The light seem to be coming form your hard left.

    The lower angle mentioned would have helped with the foreground element Those dark masses overpower the image Fun birds to shoot !!!!!

    I like the composition and interaction of the birds. The image seems somewhat harsh and over-sharpened to me.

    I agree John, I have reposted the image with attempts to follow everyones advise. I can't seem to come up with a final product that isn't sort of harsh. I have started over from the NEF file and applied much less sharpening, and reduced the contrast/brightness. It is an improvement, but still sort of harsh, as you say. Dan Brown
