Default "Never put your camera away"

    White Breasted Nuthatch

This photograph is a big example of one simple rule for increasing your odds for capturing unexpected moments in photography - "Never put your camera away until you get home"

As it was windy and cold with very little activity we finished our shoot for the day. While waiting for my partner in parking lot, I was thinking about how unproductive the day was. I was little disappointed but then I thought of the saying and decided not to keep the camera away and just look around to see if I can find something interesting...In no time I saw few small birds making rounds of a tree near by in parking lot...so I positioned my self for the light on back (This was must as it was getting dark) and waited patiently for birds to return...After few "cold" moments this beautiful Nuthatch returned and posed nicely for me...This one Image made my otherwise dull day.

Your patience paid off well here, Maya.
Nice comp with a perfectly positioned bird.
You did very well in the given conditions!
