Dumay, absolutely stunning! The arrogant pose, the light, the detail of the scratches down his flanks, the eyes and nostrils, the blood on his neck and the tail. POV, position in the frame. The flies buzzing around. You should be immensely proud of this photograph, I know I would be.

Love it as well Dumay, the catchlight in the eye, the tail flip and magic lighting really enhancing, excellent! Says everything about the bullish nature of the black.
Only nit is the small shrub at the rear legs, no big deal.

Just a CLASS shot IMHO, mate...one of your best yet. I always enjoy seeing Black Rhino images and this one is niiiiiice!
Super light, super low angle, great pose and IQ. I even like how the foliage behind him "mirrors" the shape of his back.

Thnks for the comments folks, he was running and I ad to pick up the camera and shoot. I was still on settings from a previous photographic encounter. Was not sure about it but glad to see the positive responses!

Dumay - I agree - super image! The running pose with raised leg and switching tail coupled with the light and comp all make for a great image.

Dumay great image which captures the testy nature of this species perfectly. Nice detail all round and well done under the circumstances. TFS.

    Hi Dumay,
This is a beauty. I love the aggressive pose with the tail up and nostril flaring.
