The OCW is one of our winter visitors and loves oranges, suet, and will fly upwards and grab a bit of Humming bird nectar which is the only bird that does that. Many small birds will sit on the side & duck down for a nip of their sugar fix.

BTW: I posted redo on House Finch to your suggestions -thanks.
Nice pose and colors. Love the blue of the sky mixed with the green in the BG. Nice light on the front of the bird. exposed well.
Not too sure about the crop though. And I am in double minds to what the crop critique should be. Ideally there should be more space in front of the bird but here that would mean more of the tree trunk eating into the frame, possibly dominating the frame. May be a balance of both?
Eyes could be a little sharper? I get a feeling that the focus point was not on the eye.
Amol provided good feedback, the colors are fantastic. I love the fact that the background colors compliment the subject - really nice. Slight shadows and tonal range on the body feathers look good. The composition is different but alright to me. The general rule is 1/3 tree, 1/3 bird and 1/3 sky. The issue for me is the perch angle. Some might say this unbalances the frame, a straighter edge offers harmony and stops the eye from roaming, interested to see what others say.
Subject pose is strong and the head-on look is different, well done Gus.

Agree with above. Very nice pose, nice tonalities. Is there enough tree left in the original frame? can that be rotated to make the tree vertical? Or cropping a little on right would balance the image? I am not sure.
Hi Gus, comments and suggestions above are right on the money and your repost really fixed the difficult composition issue. I would now crop from the right, just to where your signature currently starts, and call it done. Sweet image!
