Last spring we had quite an huge number of grebes stationed on lake Ontario by the city of Toronto . Some estimated they were around 1000 of them. It was an impressive site to see. Some were pretty intrigued by the many photographers and didn't mind coming close to shore to inspect.

The lighting is very even and the silver water compliments the bird nicely. There is a tiny spot below the bird which i would remove. I would slightly dodge the top 1/3 of the bird's eye just to add a bit more life to it. Low shooting angle is great and I like your comp altho I feel as if a bit more on the right wouldn't hurt, if you have it. (A personal choice). Nicely done, Carmelo.

A truly beautifu image, Carmelo. I went there a few times mainly for the sake of a lonely Western Grebe, but couldn't find it.

Nicely done Carmelo. Beautiful, simple design which really shows the bird off. Nice and sharp, lots of detail in the plumage. I feel the face and eye is a little dark and would fill that with some light in Adobe Camera Raw and selectively with the dodge tool later on.

Very nice image. Nice position and head angle. Agree with lightening up the eye a bit.

Hi Carmelo, good low perspective, and I like the pose. I do like the colours on the neck, which also likes where your critical focus point was. Maybe some selective sharpening on the head will work. Maybe Ive had a long day, as no one else has mentioned it.

Excellent shot. Great low angle, very nice pose, excellent feather detail, but do agree with Stuart on the head. Some selective sharpening on the head, but other than that. Superb shot.
    Well done.

Lovely low angle Carmelo, colours and detail nicely captured. Love the colouring of the bill.
