My humble apologies for my lack of activity here over the weekend. I was attending to work issues over the weekend and family issues for the first part of this week. I did get away to "shoot" some birdies on Monday though...

Dug this one up from our trip to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. Late afternoon light.

Nice alert look on this one Morkel and looking direct to camera is just spot on. Good placement within frame and cracking setting, as the BEF just blends so well into his/her environment. Like the WD's, got to love those big satellite dishes for ears. Nice one.

Morkel - nice light and tones to this. I also like the head on look and the comp, just wish the shadow was not across the face. Maybe another round of selective sharpening on the head?

    Morkel,

This is a fine example for me as to why Bat Eared Foxes are so frustrating to get an image of.

There it stands in a nice pose and the light is in the wrong direction causing for me at least a distracting shadow across the face and shoulder. Not sure that there is anything you could really do about it nor lessen it in processing.

Still never seen one of these guys... I hope to get the chance soon. Lovely detail and the colors are very much SA colors. Good eye contact and great light. I saw you were at Mankwe this recently.... Man i miss that place!

My favourite in typical Kgalagadi environment Morkel. Nice eye contact and lovely texture on the coat. Not easy to get these guys.
