I had great luck with the GGO's last fall. It took lots of persistance to get this shot with a nice out of focus background. Others taken within a couple of feet of this location showed the typical busy bg in which you find GGO's.

A stunner! Beautiful subject, killer background, and beautiful sharp detail. With the direct look and forward-facing pose, I think placing the bird in the center of the frame was the perfect choice. I am jealous of this one!

I am so envious of this fabulous photo. The great gray is the bird of my dreams. And you got this one against a terrific BG. Well done. Not sure how I feel about centering the owl in the frame; I'll have to look at the photo a few more times.

I love this image the way it is, not centering the subgect in this one don´t seem right to me. The eye contact tells the story, and besides, as you mentioned, the BG is not busy which is great.
