Todays snowy conditions along with big herds of bison provided plenty of photo opportunities.

    Chas,

Great impression of cold here (nice for me at this time of year), detail is as always superb.

Stripe in BG may be considered a bit of a nuisance.

With both eyes fully visible it would have been too good

Great detail on the bison's head, but do agree with Ken that the strip of blue at eye level is not something I prefer.

Depth of detail and clarity is faultless as ever Chas, the frozen snow embedded into the thick, dense fur reinforces the scene and conditions. Because of the muted, soft, OOF colours in the BKG juxtapose to the dark, crispness of the subject, the strip mentioned doesn't worry me in this image.

Nice intimate portrait. IQ is terrific. The blue line is a bit distracting but not a deal breaker for me,

Beautiful produced animal portrait, as expected. Love the crisp feeling of snow on the bison's head. Ambivalent on the blue shadows on the snow … certainly gives a more graphic touch to the image.

Chas - This really conveys the brutal cold. Great detail and your usual high IQ.

Hi Charles, excellent image, captures the harshness of the environment well. Great IQ and love the contrasting textures of the snow and fur. TFS.

Crisp detail as always Chas! I love how the area around the eye is "open" without snow. Great exposure...
