This was taken at a set up in Costa Rica. The BG is assorted palms. I had the flash set for fill but it did not fire. All C&Cs are welcome and appreciated.

Simply stunning Jim. One of the best Toucan images I've seen. Light, bg, perch, pose ... all top notch!

Spectacular shot, Jim. I like everything about it, including the great DOF for this magnificent bill, and the fanned palm BG. Maybe just as well the flash didn't fire. Might consider a little more NR on the BG?

Great angle, colours and background, Jim. It looks like you did not miss anything with the flash not fireing this time.

That is really impressive depth of field for F 6.3. Must be an amazing lens to work with. Very clear and great colors. I don't miss the absence of fill flash in tis photo.

Excellent exposure for all of those colors! The fill might have lit the belly a little but this is just fine. I like the pattern of the palms in the bg.

First class super detail throughout the tonal range, a great pose and a beautiful background to set it off.

Hi Jim, I feel you have outdone yourself in this Stunning. Maybe its a good thing your flash didnt fire, as I find the natural light just perfect. The exposure and colours superb, and great DOF. I do like the lichen covered perch. Yep, a fine image Jim - congrats.
