    excellent image chris. creamy bg and superb perch. light is tricky which handled very well.

    Opening up Shadows by few points would enhance the hard light on back tail part.

    Chris:

    Excellent pose, perch, head angle, BG.

    I appreciate Mital's point about the exposure on the back, but the shading does give it a very nicely rounded, 3D effect, so I would leave some of the shadows.

    Nice exposure, with good detail in the reds.

    I might try a version with the bird moved to the left in the frame a bit.

    I like it!

    Hi Chris, I have only one decent shot of these guys, taken ages ago, so Im extremely jealous on this shot. Fantastic light, pose, colours and sharpness. I do like that he's in the open, and agree, moving him to the left will work better.

    Chris, I always look forward to your posts. this one does not disappoint :-) what a shot. loved the light, BG, perch, pose, details...awesome stuff. agree abt composition suggestions above.
