Hi John; Lots to like about your capture, the water dripping from the feet, strong look in the eye, ripple visible but not overpowering. Good processing.
If mine, would be hanging on my wall.
Thank you for sharing .

Good catch John! I like the low flight over the water and the mileage you got out of the DOF at f/5.6. The peak whites on the bird are very hot - technically not blown but the red channel is mostly at 254 and the other channels aren't far off. Using f/8 would have saved the whites and given you just a hair more sharpness in the capture. Well done otherwise!

John,
Nice action shot with a great low-shooting angle. Might take a small layer off the bottom. Was this HH, looks like you might have a hot spot in the middle of the body. I am not that familiar with the tonal/contrast enhancer, sometimes these tools can make an image look worked and unnatural. Thanks for posting, nice day in the life of nature shot.
The sun on white bodies and cause overexposure always set you exposure for the brightest spots in times like this. Do you always use 800 ISO?
Keep em coming please!
