Location, grounds of the wonderful Savegre Mountain Lodge, Saint Gerado D'Ota, Costa Rica

An uncommon parakeet usually seen flying over or high in the canopy.

I luckily came across these individuals "scrumping" for apples on the hotel garden!

Fair bit of cloning superflous branches, Raw con in DPP, NR with Topaz

Canon 7D, 100-400, F 7.1 (trying to get shape on the apples)

AF spot, ISO 640 ss 1/400

Really like this image with both birds in cool poses and the half eaten apples. You handled the lighting conditions well only wish for a little more room at the top if you have it

Nice that you were able to get eye-level looks at these birds Richard. And great that you got two, in focus, on the same frame and both with good eye contact. I would like to see a bit more room on top. Feather texture seems a bit grainy and I wonder if it might benefit by some mild NR. Too bad there is not enough room on left for the "virtual tail" of the lower bird.

nice you got two and both sharp. a bit tight on the left, there is a little bit of noise left in the feathers...

I like the OP better. You have lost the crisp feather detail with the NR. Maybe something in between? I am glad to see the repost with more room on top. Fantastic that you got both birds with great HA and the half eaten apples really add.

I like the original post best. Great that you have the birds in a lovely environmental scene while keeping an eye on you. It is perfect.

Agree the repost is too much NR.
