The high surf churned up a lot of foam for the seals down at La Jolla. Crop, ACR, CS5, touched up eyes, some spots on seal and wave.

Hi Brendon, nice low angle and I like the eye contact with the viewer. Both crop and placement of the subject for me work well and I love the frothing white surf.

Would suggest removing some of the Magenta out of the Blues, which crisps up the whites in the FG, but then just watch the BKG color. However, it's the 'ochre' colour that catches my eye which I assume is from the sun? Not sure what you can do on that score sadly. Good choice of species to post, thanks.

Brendan - This works very well, nice pov, comp and subject. Sharpness and detail look good too.

Thanks, Ken, Steve, & Rachel, much appreciated.

Here's a repost with some of the magenta removed from the blues. It really does crisp up the whites as you predicted, Steve.
I wonder why that works better than removing magenta from the whites?

Hi Brendon, not sure either, but it does seem to change from image & location, ie sea/snow, so there is no hard rule IMHO. Might have been in the processing perhaps??? If you think it's helped and it looks better, glad to help.

BTW What did cause the 'ochre' waves in the BKG?

    cheers

I believe that is kelp being lit up by the sun. I might try some desaturation on it.

    Hi Brendon,
I like your image. The detail, POV and the composition. The bubbles in the surf add to the image.
Thanks for sharing. As to the colour!!!?? to me it looks fine.
    Best wishes,
    Mark.

Great moment captured and like the composition. My only problem is the ochre patches in the background but as the others say not sure what can be done.
