Decided to revisit some of my other trips too and to bring a little more variety to the forum. This big brown bear image was taken from the falls platform at Brooks Falls in Katmai National Park in July 2010.

Been there a few times myself Rachel!!! Excellent details and really like the pose! You know my love for tight crops.....so could go some off the bottom to eliminate the white water....but personal preference there so a really nice one!

Hi Rachel, PP all looking good, this idea of revisiting old files is really paying off.

I can see where Roman is coming from re crop, but overall, as presented, I find the crop a little uneasy, as to whether it needs more above, less below I'm not clear. Is this FF fine, if not, could you post the FF version only if there is more room all round, thanks.

Thanks Roman and Steve. This is FF, no crop. I left the space below for the virtual feet but am happy to have suggestions for alternatives.

    Thanks again,
    Rachel

Very nice image Rachel, but agree with Roman and Steve on trying some alternative cropping. I can appreciate why you cropped as you did, but like Steve says, it feels 'uneasy' (great description).

Wonderful action pose, Rachel, like the open mouth and beautiful texture to fur. Agree on trying more crop options, but still nicely captured!

Thanks Hilary and Brendan. I'll play around with the crop a bit.

Here's an attempt at a crop. Took some off the left, right and the most from below. Please let me know if you prefer it or have another suggestion.

    Thanks,
    Rachel

A little too tight for me on the LHS Rachel, perhaps something like this, but wished for more above so it could still be extended to the RHS.

    cheers

Like Steve's repost the best. Also would try flipping it left-right.

    Hi Rachel,
I don't find the OP that awkward but I do prefer your RP over the OP. Gives more focus on the bear and eliminates some of the swirling water across the bottom. The best part for me though is the whirlpool in front of the bear. There's still enough churning water to show he's in a river and his position next to the whirlpool makes it seem like he's even more in the middle of it all.

Thanks Steve, Tom and Steve, much appreciated. Tom - I don't flip my images (too much manipulation for my taste) but thanks for the suggestion.
