This is the Lioness mentioned yesterday, who lost her kill to the Hyena and then the Wild Dog.

After chasing the Wild Dog around this is what she retrieved, but looking at her belly I think she had allready had quite a lot.

Taken in Kwando concession, Northern Botswana.

    Hey Ken,
I laughed when I saw the rolling eyes on f/7.1.......becuase of the BG I'd imagine. This is still an excellent image and pose. Do I wish the BG was less intrusive....yes, but by no means a deal breaker! We all strive for the "perfect' moment.....if there is such a thing......but given the whole scene you witnessed, this one will bring back some great memories your entire lifetime!

This is extremely well composed and what a story! Thank you for sharing it. Love how you can see that sagging belly. Yes the BG is a bit busy, but the subject is so powerful that it becomes an after thought.

Ken - I like this a lot. Small nit about the bg but the look and pose overcome it. Great sighting that I am sure you will always remember.

Love the pose with good eye contact, I don't think f/5.6 or even f/4 would be enough Ken to isolate the BG anyway due to her proximity and your distance.
The subject has enough to stand on it's own anyway.

Thanks everbody for your comments, one thing with animals is that they nearly always pose in the wrong place

BG not an issue for me - typical Delta/Panhandle foliage. Nice stare and moment here! She does look satisfied...
