    Default Cape Glossy Starling

It was overcast on this visit to my favourite location - Pilanesberg Nature Reserve, but the soft light has brought out the colours of the Starling nicely. The item in the beak is grass, and the BG is OOF foliage as shot.

Stuart, absolutely beautiful plumage on this bird. I have seen these birds close up while participating in cage bird shows. This is as nice as it gets. I might crop a bit from the bottom

Superb iridescent colors, awesome perch and bg. The grass is a definite plus. That eye is so hypnotic that I forget what HA stands for ;)

Wonderful shot Stuart! I just love the pose especially it having grass in its beak. Wonderful background and very nice perch. A well executed image.
    Well done.

Wow Stuart! This one is great. I love the comp and the perch on the RHS of the frame. Love the grass in the beak and the iridescence. No nits from me except that I want you to take me to Pilanesberg some day!!

Great detail, perch, colors, and composition, Stuart. Love that "intense" eye too.

excellent colors, Stuart. loved the BG as well. everything else is good as always. You get a lot of nice species at this place at eye-level.

Sweeet Stuart! You have much nicer starlings than we do! Perch, BG, and exposure are fantastic!

The soft light really helped to exposed this critter, super sharp and well exposed colors and bg. Nice shot Stu
