I originally posted this one in Landscapes, but it was lost during the problems, so I decided to repost it as a Fractalius. This scene is just up the road from my home and was captured at sunset during a slight cold snap...-25 Celsius. For this effect I chose the 'soft' preset and played with the sliders until I came up with something I liked and applied it to a background layer with the opacity reduced to 75%. I thought about masking out the lines in the foreground snow, but sort of liked them too.
I really like this also. Great composition. I think you were right in leaving the foreground lines. I think this scene would also be great as a landscape with the tree on the left side if you have a capture like that. Much potential.
-25 Just another winter day....I really like the original you posted on your blog, this fracted rendition was a great idea. Leave the lines in front. Well Done
Love everything about this one: the image design, the treatment, and the lines in the snow and the sky. Very well done.

Hi Andrew! This is a lovely image and the fractilius has made it unique. I like the effect on the tree and I like those fg lines. They kind of add a whimsical feel to the image and help to unify the composition. If it were mine I might remove the lines from the sky...but thats just me! Nice work here!
