    Default Theme: Dogwood

    D200 + 80-400 VR @ 250mm, ISO 400, 1/180, f 5.3

The processing is very simple, I selected spots on a custom curve in Photoshop by selecting the dark and light points on the flowers and then moving them apart ever so slightly to bring up the contrast, and then I use Noiseware Pro to remove noise and sharpen. I hung out my second floor bedroom windows to take the photo.

Ps. When I look at the description of this forum, it appears as if most anything goes from right out of the camera to very creative processing. Do I have it correct?

You are bang on Morris, in OOTB, out of camera blurs, to blurs created with software. Paintings, High Key, Low Key, Flips, etc., look back at the many threads, there are just to many to list. Also check out the bi-weekly theme winners, some amazing creativity there.

If you make changes using different effects, on any image, it helps to list what was done, using what software. This fits the theme perfectly, the flowers are sharp where they need to be.

I might have used a different crop (cropped a little from both sides) but as someone from this forum once said, "your image, your vision. Thanks for sharing.

Morris, Yes, you have it correct. We welcome OOTB thinking as well as processing. Nice job with these beautiful Dogwood blooms. The color is very appealing and perfect for the theme! Great job with the grouping. I might take a crop a sliver left and bottom if it were mine.

Morris, welcome to OOTB! Excellent composition. I like how you kept the focus on front flowers... nice bokeh/OOF bg and colors. TFS.

This is very lovely with the variations of pinks and sharpness to blurred! I like the feeling of being enveloped in pink. And welcome also!

    Thank you everyone,

I had a few reasons to crop the way I did.

    - Place the seed pods at the thirds intersections
    - Show off the pretty pink background
    - Give my subject some space
    - Show the echo of the subject on the top
    - Leave the OOF flower on the left side without cropping the peddle more than when I captured it

    Morris
