    Michael,

I love the field techniques and am going to pick on you a bit here (hope you don't mind). All that planning (controlling the light, TC , bracing the kit etc.) and you put a hugh branch in the foreground!!!!

Anyway remember you control the frame, you determine what to include and what to exclude. Foreground elements tend to distract the eye,..balance the frame foreground, subject and background. Now these rule can be broken but with a single subject these objects distract from the beautiful bird.

I live the TTM, always seems a bit sad to me and the face is so beautiful with this species. Keep em coming and try this, spend as much time on the foreground and background elements as the subject for now, it will eventually become second nature.

Did you use flash, tell me about the settings - thanks.

    Jeff,

Thanks much for the comments (the picking on me is what I want, beat me... flail away )... Good points on the foreground branch.

My daughter, who is becoming pretty good at id'ing birds, commented on the tm's beautiful song. She's right...

    Cheers,

    -Michael-
