Got this RedHead when my lens was acting up. Not sure if the focus/sharpness is on but am curious if you think so St. pete crop to about 60%

Lovely image! Sweet light and colours, excellent techs and pose. The bird is in focus IMHO. I think the slight softness is caused bythe use of the x2 converter and maybe you don't apply some more sharpening as needed. In here I have applied some "Topaz Details 2" and I think it looks good - what do you think?

Hi Cheryl, I always apply sharpening selectively as you only want to sharpen the subject and avoid introducing more noise.

I thought maybe you did a quikie on it as I see more noise in the bg on repost. May be my eyes it's time for bed over here.

Love the OP . Nice lovely pose . The focus seems to be on the chest area , but the DOF has ensured that the bird overall is plenty sharp .

Hi Cheryl, sharpness looks fine from this side, and I do like the angled wing flap. Good low angle of capture, and the colours of the water rock. Ofer's repost does take this up a notch.

Sweet action shot, Cheryl! Love that low angle, the colors, the pose! Maybe I should bring my waders to FL for our outing!
