Yet another visit to Murrays Beach on Lake Macquarie weather has not been kind and I am itching for better light. This a different couple to the earlier posting. Particularly liked the pose of the right hand bird as it shows the crown of the head as side on images miss this aspect..such a delicate variation in feather colour and for me part of diagnostics.

The alternating head angles work very well plus you have the right amount of juxtaposition between the two birds. I like the vertical comp...although I think it could use a bit more room above (not much needed). I also like the perch and tree overall. Vivid colours!! I detect some noise (more than should be at ISO 400) and coarseness to the plumage.

Great colors and perch. I like the individual poses too.

I have never photographed this species. Agree with the noise issue - seems more that it should be at ISO 400. Both birds have good eye contact.
