I was able to get the number off the band and my friend forwarded the numbers to the Dept of Lands and Forests. They were able to confirm that this handsome fella was banded 25 years ago TODAY as a juvenile. They couldn't tell me exactly how old he was when he was banded. He appears to have a growth or abnormality on his beak.
I love the light on his wings.
Comments and critiques always learned from and appreciated with thanks,
    Gail

Great shot Gail ! I also love the light on the underwing, as well as the wing position. Well spotted and what a coincidence.
I am qualified in bird banding in South Africa and I can truly appreciate this find !

Hi Gail, it was only a matter of time when you would have good weather to be able to shoot with your new toy. Good placement of the eagle, well exposed, as the detail of the underwings show up nicely. I do like the sharpness, and the eagle is separated from the BG very well.

Great wing position angle and light, Gail. Great details in both white and dark and the expisure looks spot on. He/she looks young.

Nice bird angle and comp, nice hint of habitat, good light, exp and sharpness. Wish for a better wing position, but I'll take this any day.
Hope to photograph this awesome bird some day.

Gail, I like the incoming angle and placement of the subject in the frame. good isolation from the busy BG.
