This bird and photo just blows me away!!!! The colors are out of this world. The BG is lovely and works so well with your subject. I like the grasses on the perch. Was this a set up by any chance? I don't ask to be critical. It's just that it seems so perfect. Love the angle of the bird as well and you have nice muted light.
Super colours and I love the diffused light. I usually prefer a diagonal perch, but in this case I think the horizontal perch is quite striking...and well place at the bottom third of the frame. I wouls actually rotate the image CCW a wee bit so that perch is perfectly horizontal. Perhaps some fill would have given you a bit more detail on the belly. Very nice overall!!
Oh the colours on this one are so striking. very well done here.

Hi Jim, lovely soft light, and this fellow certainly has an array of colours. Just love the lichen covered perch, together with the leaning pose.
Wow, what color and details!
The colours of this bird is truly amazing! Love the background and detail as well.
Overall a super image!
Wow, what a fantastic bird and capture, Jim! How can something this fantastical exist! That just stuns me. Beautifully composed and executed.

Great colors on this guy Jim. The BOKH of the BG really compliment the colors of the bird. Really striking image.
Thanks everyone for the comments and suggestions.
Jim,
Excellent...The colors of the bird and BG all tie and compliment each other well making for a very pleasing image. Congrats!!!
Here is a rotated version.
Man, I take my original suggestion back. I had suggested rotating to make the perch perfectly straight horizontally...but at an angle like this is MUCH better!
