    another one from La Jolla. My first shot of a headthrow using a 500mm lens.

    D700 + Sigma 500mm 1/800 sec, f9, ISO 250 (Auto ISO mode).
    LR3 processing; close to full frame, Clarity +50, Vibrance +10, Saturation +10

    Wow, impressive capture! I also like the crop, with a minimal perch and nice use of empty space. The BG nicely offsets the pelican, and the IQ is very high overall. Perhaps the water is just a touch too electric blue? Would be interested to see what others have to say on the saturation.

    I was actually thinking the same about the water even before reading Rhys' post. All else looks great though. Super timing, nice sharpness as posted, and the techs look spot-on.
