    On a grassy bank, so I was easily able to get low. D7000, 300 f/4 AF-S +1.7TC.

    1/500, f/6.7, ISO400, -2/3EV. Some cropping, selective sharpening, levels.

    Richard:

    The light angle way to the left was a bit of a challenge, but the head turn our way really helped with its lighting. I think you were actually getting some reflected fill off the grass to softenthe harshness a bit.

    Some of the white quills are showing jaggies along the edges, usually a sign of oversharpening.

    Good shooting angle, helps a lot.

    Beautiful duck. Looks like you had some harsh lighting but you exposed the highlight well over all .
