I am still struggling with my new camera. With the 7D I tended to shoot WAY to the right to decrease shadows and noise but I have to back off from this process with the MK IV.

Nice light/exposure, like the light pattern on the chest. Maybe a bit to much reflection at the bottom, slightly tighter crop perhaps?
looks like your getting used to the mkiv pretty quick

Gail, nice moment, wings, splash and composition. not too crazy about the side light though. Better to use manual exposure mode for such shots. ...then you dont need to worry about camera's metering patterns :-)

Great landing pose. Love the splash and the low POV. The light seems a little harsh on my monitor.

great landing shot Gail, love the pose and details. It is great that you are seeing the advantages of the 1D and using it to make better images :) it shows the big difference the 1D makes vs. 7D, of course in the hands of a competent photographers ;)

The side light was not best but the shadow details is quite good... there are some minor hot areas

I agree with Richard on the tighter crop. Because the reflection isn't well defined it really serves as
no purpose. I think if you crop out what seems like the wings reflections, the image will be even
    stronger.
