    Default Robin

After a while a photo from me ......a robin. Yesterday it was sunny and a little cold but good weather too shoot. After a view weeks of sitting at home with back pain (we call it here ''spit" ) I went out and shoot some small but goodlooking birds, this is one off them.

I hope to receive constructive comments on this one.

It seems to me that this picture has a green haze on it .....on my Mac it is great with colors and sharpness......what could be the problem over here? I recently started to use Mac Lio. Could that be the problem?

Hi Willem- Lovely image of a European Robin. I like the pose, head angle and composition. However, the perch is a bit overpowering so you could crop some from below to reduce its effect. I looked at the grey on the side of the breast using LAB colour. This grey has greenish and yellowish tints, more yellow than green. The yellow comes from the warm light you had. You can correct for both of these casts but then you would lose the warm light effect. In the repost I removed the green cast by adding a bit of magenta in the A channel of LAB, and reduced the yellow a little in the B channel. I didn't want to remove the warm light, which is possible with this method (and others). I run Lion and have seen no specific issues with colour.

Do you run a good quality, calibrated display?

Lovely image, great post and feather detail. The birds eye is well done and the light is soft and shows a nice range of shadows and illustrates nice detail. I agree with John's comments on the perch, what a stunning picture- beautiful.

Thanks so far for the comments guys.

@ John thanks for the repost it looks a lot better now. But on my own screen it looks great .......but I review my screen tomorrow to see if there's something wrong with his colours.

@ Jeff I struggle a bit with the perch a little bite more or less......but this is too much you say.......all right.......I'll look into it! Now I've looked again I think I see what you mean! Thanks for the suggestion

Hi Willem, it's a lovely capture and John's repost makes it even stronger. Good job to get the image in the camera, just perfect for my eye with the color correction and crop. I trust that you have sorted your color management issue and look forward to more.
