Black eagle seen in Namaqualand. I cropped the image, but I decided to give very slow changes in the original image. The sky was cloudy grey, the light just sufficient to shot 1/60 in analogic. D85 Nikkor 300mmf4x2.

I think this one may suffer from underexposure and too much cropping. As a result your eagle is too dark and doesn't have too much detail. I also think that the sky color is just not natural. I hope that you find more opportunities for the Black Eagle as I'm sure it's a beautiful bird.....and one that I've not seen before.

    Valerio,
I totally agree with Lana, also I would clone out the six ceremic conductors from the power line at the bottom of the frame...

    Hi Valerio

Scanning is an art Not easy obtaining the results we want I would try photographing a gray card and scanning to compare Will be easier than judging with birds

The image is underexposed by at least a stop and a half Also had a strong magenta cast Very easily picked up with the scanning Tried color balancing so you get a better idea. In some of these images in order to have detail on the bird you need to over expose the sky Will become high key.

    Hi Valerio,
this bird is definetly no Black Eagle (Aquila verreauxii).
Your picture shows a Jackal Buzzard (Buteo rufofuscus).
You can see the chestnut breast, and also the bird has no feathered legs (which would be typical for an eagle).

    Cheers

hi Yes! I watched again in my 'Pocket guide to Southern african birds' by Cillič-Oberpreier: jackal buzzard ,a large black raptor.
Al in a similar case, to use the flash, in order to get a better colour balance? the attched one is strongly cropped a > saturation
    Thanks a loT!
