    Captured this cold Heron at local fishing pool. December 2010.

    Hi Paul,
    Nice position of bird in frame. The shoreline in the BG is very distracting because of angle.I would do some serious CCW rotation. I would try to bring more details out in the blacks and up the exposure a bit. I would also do a bit of NR in the BG but I am not sure why would should have so much noise at such a low ISO. Is this a big crop?
    The foreground grasses and snow are nice and I would like to see more,
