Default Transferring Keywords in Adobe Bridge from Laptop to Desktop

I am having a tough time transferring to a new computer and have not processed one single picture. I now have CS5 on my new desktop but would like to transfer my keywords (which I spent hours working on including all the Latin names) from Adobe Bridge on my laptop and imported into Bridge on my new desktop. I am pretty sure it can be done but cannot figure out how to do it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Marina,

In Bridge- Go to the Keyword Window. There's a little menu icon on the upper right side of the window. Click it and a dropdown box will open. At or near the bottom is an Export selection. Click that. Save as whatever you wish. Put the file on the other computer. Ditto steps above except click import and select the file

PS- I posted the keywords on this site a few years ago... maybe it was just a post saying to email me for keywords? Anyway... it's a lot of work. What really bites is that LR3 uses a little different format than Bridge. They'll import from Bridge to LR3 but if memory serves me the other direction is not so clean

    Hi Mike:

It worked and I am so grateful to you for your help. Now I can start processing again.

Since you appear to know so much about this, maybe you could answer one more question and, yes, I have subscribed to this thread now. Is there a way to transfer my Plug-ins from one computer to the next? I have put my Noise Ninja and Genuine Factuals on a Passport and wondered if there were a way or whether I need to redownload them.

Thanks again. There is such a weight lifted off my shoulders you have no idea.

VERY informative; are you both sharing keyword lists?
    Cheers, Jay

Jay- We aren't sharing keywords yet... I barely know her

Marina- As a matter of fact there is but there isn't. Bad answer I know. Some of my stuff was able to be moved but none of it worked very well after I moved it so I reinstalled it.

Noise Ninja... you know there's way better noise software out there right? Are you on a 64 bit OS or 32 bit? If you are running CS5 in 64 bit Windows 7 then Noiseware Pro is the the best noise removal software out there (I should add imho I suppose). I am one of their orphaned Mac users so I can't run Noiseware Pro in 64 bit Mac OS. They've pretty much decided that we Mac'sters aren't worth their time (yes I'm grumpy about it. It's been almost 2 years and it's looking bad for us. I had to switch to Topaz DeNoise and it's (A) slow and (B) not as good as Noiseware Pro is.)

Michael, I don't "know" either of you; however I would cuddle for a copy.

    Attached Files Attached Files
Too much too soon Jay but I'll share anyway

:o/ the forum doesn't allow texts but it allows MP3's. I renamed the file to .MP3 from .TXT.

If the forum likes it then download it and rename it to .TXT and then import it (in Bridge)
