    Default New website for 2012

Wow talk about the art of procrastination! I spent the tail end of last year intending to get a domain name, edit photos from Spring and then update my website. This all didnt start happening until the middle of last week. I have been more productive in recent days with photo editing than I have been in a long time and now I finally have something to show for all the time I spend behind the lens and PC. We have our first child due in April so I think that is what kick started me to get caught up with a few things.

Please visit http://jamiedouglasphotography.com/ and let me know what you think. The Farne Island and Bass Rock galleries showcase the images I took in June last year.

Other galleries are being added to everyday.

    Happy New Year

    Thanks

    Jamie

    Very nice!!

I too have been procrastinating about starting a website. Living in a caravan full-time I need an outlet for my photographs in a way to simply justify continuing to shoot. Without wall space, currently i view all of my images continuously on a 23 HD TV on a loop.

While you images are very good, a couple of points:

    1. At least for me the Landscape link is not working; lots of everything but landscapes.

    2. In you zeal to try and keep others from copying your images you have IMHO overdone it and website address PLUS your name PLUS the cat is to distracting.

Take a look at this image http://www.magichourtravelscapes.com...tiful-end.jpg; KKY sells hundreds each year. You might enjoy the website too; KKY is one of my favorite photographers.

Why Zenfolio and not one of the other choices, e.g., SmugMug, PhotoShelter, or WordPress?
    Cheers, Jay

"Nature Interpreted" - Photography begins with your mind and eyes, and ends with an image representing your vision and your reality of the captured scene; photography exceeds the camera sensor's limitations. Capturing and Processing landscapes and seascapes allows me to express my vision and reality of Nature.

    Jamie,
I agree with Jay. Nice images, but... The white cat in particular is distracting. Landscapes is not landscapes. The web address in the middle of the image is too distracting (but the cat is more--I kept thinking it was part of the image).

Hahahaha I guess my fox logo isn't a hit... see the original image that I used for the logo here... http://jamiedouglasphotography.com/p...b45b6d#hb45b6d - Now all I can see is a cat

Landscapes is a work in progress so my fault the link isnt working. I will go fix the link.

Why Zenfolio and not one of the other choices, e.g., SmugMug, PhotoShelter, or WordPress ? - A friend recommended Zenfolio and I had bought a subscription two years ago but never really used it and decided to pick up where I left off I guess. I just wanted to get my site up and running again and will probs review it for alt options later in the year. But for now, I need a webiste and I like the Zenfolio template.

Thanks for the feedback guys and I appreciate you taking the time to check out my site and provide feedback.

The site in general is easy to navigate and nicely done.

My site, in the words of my sons, is so 90's. (started it in 1998)
