    Hi,

Here's my version of a male Harlequin, seen just off the Fundy Coast on a Xmas Bird Count. It was very stormy, with mountainous waves, but the duck (drake) seemed quite happy.

D7000, 300 f/4 AF-S + 1.7TC. Rested the lens on a wooden piling on the wharf, attempting to hold it still in an 80KpH + wind. 1/200, f/6.7, ISO 180. Quite a big crop, mild NR, shadows/ highlights applied in PSE9.

Hi Richard. Nice look at this beauty but i feel that there is a lot of noise on the bird? I really like the wave movement in the bg yet would have liked it a little softer with less dof.

Real nice shot. I like the pose, nice comp, but I agree with Cheryl there is a good amount of noise.
