Was taking some group images from car on Townsville Common a la Kruger Park using the 400mm and a cushion rest when I caught some movement to my right. In swiveling around taking took priority so some rotation correction was needed. Image is a crop from the horizontal image.

    Rod,
Beautiful image and display here. (i suppose courtship ?) btw you haver very similar to our Sarus Crane resambles a lot just that the red does not extend on neck.

beautiful light and in open you got them dancing. Compo is just good and so light and sharpness and expo.

if ethics permits you i would love to see some NR applied on bg. also the small grass blade coming in frame just parellel to upper crane legs is distraction and easy fix.

    beautiful image indeed.

    Cheers

Thanks Mital for your comments. You are of course spot on with the resemblance to Sarus Cranes and indeed Sarus Cranes also occur in our far north particularly Queensland . They were first noticed in Australia in 1966, however DNA studies now suggest that they have been here for 30000 years. I tease my non-photographic birders and twitchers that if they could miss a bird as large as a Sarus Cranes until 1966 how many smaller birds are out there?? You will finfd data on both Brolgas and Sarus Cranes at Ozcranes Research at http://ozcranes.net/research/gap.html.

Lovely interaction captured here. Agree with running some NR on the BG. I really like the colors here and the layers created by your BG>
