    Default Scrub Jay, Leucistic 2

Greetings. Got another chance at this leucistic scrub jay who has been in our neighborhood. Attracted to nearby feeder.

Hi Michael, I don't read the bird as underexposed at all. I think the exposure is just fine, as I don't really like to see even 95% whites... This is a really interesting subject and I appreciate your sharing of a rare find. I would maybe add a few pixels of white highlight in the eye, just to add some interest. Of course I have to mention the tail, would be nice to have it all.

    Kerry,

Greetings. What I meant by "Lab mode curves for toning, selective on subject" was that I lifted the subject from it's underexposed state. Sorry for the limited info. Thanks for the comments... good to have you're "eyes" back in the game.

    Cheers,

    -Michael-

    Hello Michael,
Very nice capture. I like the bright background, as it brings the bird out. I find the leaves - one close to the left edge and one close to the bottom edge, and the little bud on the branch right next to the two leaves a little distracting. I like the pose - looks very curious. nice whites on the bird.

    Michael,

I like the profile shot, nice and close. I have developed a liking for closeup shots of various birds. I am always looking for something different and original. Good job on the ISO, now you are leveraging that Nikon kit - well done.
