From the Salton Sea. Getting close to these skittish little birds is a challenge, but the rewards are great.

    Kerry,

In terms of feeling and mood you get an A - the long-legs and tender pose makes a strong pic. I might take some off the top and produce a cleaner edge, might take things out of the middle as well and smooth the colors at the top.

How did you get this close a hide or just the slow but sure sneaky approach.

    Kerry,
Very nice capture. I like the pose and the reflection of the legs adding to the already long legs leading up to the body and the face. Agree with Jeff on taking the top off. I have never been able to approach these birds close enough to get a decent picture. Great job on getting close.

    Very nice Kerry,

    Nicely exposed whites.
colors could be more vibrant. esp the green and pink legs.
room for a crop above the head imo
A lower angle would have been nicer.

Great pose with nice feather detail. I think I'd take a bit off the top as well.

A beauty Kerry. The reflection is so good it must have been hard to know where to crop at the bottom! Beautiful light. I agree that the saturation could be upped a bit.

Kerry, this is a beautiful pose. I love the long legs that run into the reflection. A very nice effect! It looks like you had a great time at the SS.
